Meyer Guggenheim, Feistels son appears 33 times between 1730 and 1744. The entries relate almost exclusively to protection tax payments. He didn`t pay his last tax and disappeared after 1743, leaving behind unpaid taxes [R194; 01.01.1745] . .

1729-03-22Meyer Gugenheimb, protected Jew here, has married Schönle, the daughter of Josel Gugenheimb, about two months ago. The young couple got into heavy quarrels in which their parents got involved, too. Meyer had even once told to Marum Weyl that he would rather issue a divorce document (Scheidbrief) if the Jossl side will not allow him command (Gewalt) over the marriage endowment. In spite of many good words, they could not come to an agreement at the office, so the matter was transferred to the local Rabbi and to schoolmaster Heyum. Today appears the young couple with Jonas Gugenheimb, Marum Weyl of Donaueschingen and Mencke Bernheim of Tiengen and declares their agreement in this matter. The transfer of the case to the Rabbi and the schoolmaster is waived for now.

As the exact dates of marriage were not recorded, the Jews were summoned and interrogated. Salomon Weyl Marumben Sandels Sohn is due protection fee from 29.09.1731 (Michaelis) onwards, Meyer Gugenheimb Faistels Sohn from 23.04.1731 (Georgii) onwards, Abrahamb Bloch, whose exempted two years are mentioned in his letter-of-protection, from 23.04.1730 (Georgii) onwards. Marumb Weyl Sandels Sohn and Jossel Gugenheimb object that never before the months were calculated, but one only used the two terms between Easter and Michaelis and subsequently Michaelis and Easter. The Jews may file a complaint against the new method if they want so.
