But near Basel and Schaffhausen, Switzerland extends north of the Rhine. Jewish Communities in Locations 1 \u2013 12<\/small><\/span><!-- cp_caption_end -->\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"Standard\">The town of St\u00fchlingen is si\u00adtu\u00adated bet\u00adween the eas\u00adtern foot\u00adhills of the Black Fo\u00adrest and the nort\u00adh\u00adwes\u00adtern bor\u00adder of Schaff\u00adhau\u00adsen on the wes\u00adtern bank of the litt\u00adle Wu\u00adtach Ri\u00adver. For most of the se\u00adven\u00adteenth and eigh\u00adteenth cen\u00adtu\u00adries St\u00fc\u00adhlin\u00adgen was ru\u00adled by the counts of F\u00fcr\u00adsten\u00adberg from their ca\u00adpi\u00adtal Do\u00adnau\u00adeschin\u00adgen to its north. The litt\u00adle town of Tien\u00adgen \u2013 now Walds\u00adhut-Tiengen \u2013 lies near the con\u00adfluence of the Wu\u00adtach and Rhine Ri\u00advers. Both Tien\u00adgen and Do\u00adnau\u00adeschin\u00adgen had in\u00adter\u00adac\u00adting Je\u00adwish Com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adties.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span class=\"Standard\">Jewish life in St\u00fchlingen was also impacted directly by the city of Schaffhausen, the capital of the Swiss canton with the same name.
